You can also dip the steak in the marinade in a large baking dish.

When you are ready to grill, heat the grill over medium-high heat. Remove the steak, discard the marinade, then look for the marinated steak on the grill for 8-10 minutes per side or until cooked to taste. 135 degrees F is medium-rare.

As I did and on other occasions, today I will not tempt you with who knows what famous or complicated recipe, but with a very simple one, born from the desire to use what I had in the fridge. More precisely, some pork steaks, some pieces of bacon and some cedar cheese. And while I was thinking about how they would go together, I thought of stacking them on top of each other and putting them in the oven. Hence the term & # 8220turnulete & # 8221 (I don't kill myself after it, because of the connotations, but I didn't find a better one either :(). Please, no matter how you tell them, the result is very tasty, especially as we marinate the meat, beforehand, in a mixture of mustard, maple syrup, lemon juice and thyme.

One thing I would do differently next time: I would beat the slices of meat, to be even tenderer. What else can I tell you? You can use cheese instead of English cedar cheese (cheddar to her mother & # 8221) and honey instead of maple syrup (although the latter behaves better at high temperatures). Then, due to their small size, these & # 8220turns & # 8221 go great as a hot snack for a buffet meal (marinate the meat and assemble the & # 8220turns & # 8221 beforehand, and put them in the oven close to the arrival of the guests).

Ingredients (for 4 pieces):
& # 8211 pork leg 4 slices (320 g)

Mix, in a bowl, the mustard, maple syrup, dried thyme, lemon juice, tablespoon of oil, a pinch of salt and pepper. Wash the meat, wipe it with water (by dabbing with paper towels) and eventually beat it a little. Place the slices in a smaller tray and pour the marinade over them. Turn the slices over several times so that the meat is evenly covered with the marinade. Put it in the cold and leave it for at least an hour.

Remove the meat tray from the cold and allow it to reach room temperature. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Take a slice of meat and put in half of it the pieces of bacon and a little garlic (cut into small pieces or passed through the press). Cover with the other half of the slice. Put a slice of onion (about 1 cm thick) on top, another 3-4 pieces of bacon and, at the end, a slice of cheese. Prick with a toothpick to make sure the & # 8220construction & # 8221 does not fall apart. Do the same with the rest of the meat slices, leaving the turnips in the same tray in which you marinated the meat.

Sprinkle a little pepper on top and put in the hot oven. Leave for 35-40 minutes or until the meat has penetrated and the cheese has melted and taken on a little color. Leave the turns for 7-8 minutes and breathe, then serve.
